About Ky

Hi, I'm Ky (she/her).

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #163746) and a transgender woman providing telehealth therapy to adults, couples, and polycules throughout California.

My practice centers transgender and queer adults, while welcoming anyone seeking an affirming space to better understand themselves and/or strengthen their relationships.

Whether you're exploring your gender or sexuality, navigating a medical or social transition, or working to strengthen your partnership(s), my goal is to cultivate space to make sense of the experiences, identities, and relationships that shape who you are. My hope is that our work together reflects back your fullness today while making room for healing, growth, and new possibilities.

In addition to my private practice, I serve as Associate Director of Behavioral Health Services at a Federally Qualified Health Center in San Francisco, where I oversee behavioral health programs serving transgender and gender-diverse communities. This work keeps me deeply connected to my communities and continually informs my clinical practice.

As a transgender woman myself, I also bring lived experience to this work. While no two journeys are the same, I have firsthand experience with some of the complexities that can arise around identity, belonging, healthcare systems, relationships, and navigating a world that isn't designed with LGBTQ+ people in mind. I aim to offer a therapeutic space where you can feel understood without needing to educate me on the basics of your identities or communities.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, relational, and grounded in empathy. I draw from person-centered, (trans)feminist, and third-wave cognitive behavioral therapies, tailoring treatment to your unique goals and experiences.

In my work with couples and relationships, I am particularly influenced by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I find this approach helps people better understand the emotional patterns that underlie and shape their relationships, while creating new pathways of turning toward one another with greater openness, security, and care.

Outside of therapy, my path has included work in progressive political organizing and digital strategy before finding my way here. I earned my M.S. in Counseling from San Francisco State University and my B.A. in Sociology and Gender & Sexuality Studies from Brown University.

Finding the right therapist is an important decision, and fit matters quite a bit. If what you've read here resonates with you, I'd be honored to learn more about your story and explore further whether we're a good mutual fit through a complimentary 20-minute consultation.
